[Revolution] Tommy Dreamer
Afterburn
by Diego Poblete

When Revolution 2: Extreme arrives, we’ll have new Extremist, new cards and new metagames. This time I choose one of the four Extremist of ECW Originals, Tommy Dreamer. This Extremist debut in 1993 for the ECW company, showing all his potencial in an ascending way. He’s named the “Innovator of Violence”, for his great handle on Hardcore matches, giving a huge spectacle.

BACKSTAGE (3)

<Raw Deal logo> Fifth Anniversary
<WWE logo> Backstage Signature
<WWE logo> Signing Appearance

If you fear to “Backstage Shenanigans”, just play “<Raw Deal logo> Fifth Anniversary”.

Bitter Rivals (x1)
Don’t BASH the Star (x2)
<ECW logo> Championship Belt (x1)
It’s Time for a Great American BASH (x3)
Rochester, New York (x1)
The Champ Is Here! (x1)
Underrated Superstar [TB] (x1)

The basic prematch order: “Rochester, New York”, “Bitter Rivals”, “<ECW logo> Championship Belt”, “The Champ Is Here!” and the 3x “It’s Time for a Great American BASH”. In this way, we have available the midmatch reversal “This Is Going Nowhere Fast” at the start of the game, so don’t worry about your opponent go first in the match. In case our opponent play first a Venue, you can replace that empty slot with “Underrated Superstar [TB]”. The “Don’t BASH the Star” cards are for replace the function of <ECW logo> Championship Belt (+2D), just in case of not being able to play it before our opponent.

Mid-match (10)

[Revolution] Spinning Crescent Kick (x2)
A Phoenix Rising (x1)
Introduce Your Brain to Your Mouth… (x1)
Restricted Use in This Area (x1)
Sustained Damage (x1)
This Is Going Nowhere Fast (x1)
Trevor Murdoch Is Gonna BASH Your Brains In (x2)
You're as Graceful as a Cow on Ice (x1)

The “Trevor Murdoch Is Gonna BASH Your Brains In” will be useful at the beginning of the game, with the BASH maneuvers our fortitud will raise in a fast way. “A Phoenix Rising” it helped against “Managed by Jimmy Hart” (obviously) and GM decks in order to gain fortitud. Then we’ve the basic midmatch-reversal structure.

ARSENAL (60)

Actions (3)

That’s Broken (x3)

These three actions assured cards like “Me Llamo … Armando Alejandro Estrrrrrada”, “The Return BASH for Scotty’s W—O—R—M” and “[Revolution] Overexposure”, being able to control the game.

Antics (6)

[Revolution] A Spirited Turn of Events (x3)
[Revolution] Double Your Value—Double Your Fun (x3)

By the way in which we put cards in our Ringside Pile, it is useful just for recover some of them in the right moment with “[Revolution] A Spirited Turn of Events”. Now, if you want to do more damage of that already we have made and double your fortitud, just play “[Revolution] Double Your Value—Double Your Fun”.

Maneuvers (21)

[Revolution] A New Breed Unleashed (x1)
[Revolution] Drive Opponent Through Announcer’s Table (x2)
[Revolution] Electric Chair (x2)
[Revolution] Flying Topé (x3)
[Revolution] Garbage Can Lid (x2)
[Revolution] Struck by a Singapore Cane (x2)
[Revolution] The Dreamer DDT (x1)
BASH Headlock (x3)
BASH Suplex (x3)
Blindside Hook (x2)

This deck is based in an aggro function, for the use of many maneuvers (BASH multi, Blindside, Extreme, etc.). The idea is to ignore reversal cards like “Elbow to the Face”, ‘cause the 0F maneuvers, generally, make an 8D. After applying damage, we can complement our advantage
with cards like “[Revolution] Flying Topé” or “[Revolution] Spinning Crescent Kick”. The Superstar Ability will be important on this advantage.

Reversals (30)

[Revolution] Overexposure (x3)
[Revolution] Why Don’t You Kiss My A%$? (x3)
A Revolution of the Mind (x3)
Blindsided Ego [TB] (x3)
Blindsided Control (x2)

The Return BASH for Scotty’s W—O—R—M (x3)
There Are Two Things You Can Do… (x3)

“Blindsided Ego [TB]” and “Blindsided Control” are a nice option to reverse anything, the Superstar Ability will allow have them on the Ringside Pile very early in the game (maybe during your first or second turn). “The Coach Says, "Today's the Day!"” will be available to play since our first turn.

This is a fast, efficient and easy deck to play. The base maneuvers (0F and BASH) may not be reversed by cards like “Elbow to the Face” and we’ve many reversal to play, even before the first turn of the game. It has a simple construction where any novice or expert player could feel the Extreme Experience, of this “Innovator of the Violence”. Greetings for Chile and the Raw Deal’s players community. And don’t forget this….ECW! ECW! ECW!.
