BACKSTAGE (1)
Backstage Signing Appearance x1
Strategy Notes:
BACKLASH (20)
Pre-match (10)
According to Linda and the Board of Executives x1
Blindsided Precision x1
For the Love of the Game x3
Hell in a Cell Match x1
It’s Time for a Great American BASH x3
Not On My Broadcast (TB) x1
Strategy Notes:
It’s not a complicated Pre-match set-up. Play everything except the 3 For the Love of the Game, which are simply there in case you are forced to discard card(s) from your Backlash deck to allow you to draw more.
Mid-match (10)
[Revolution] Keep Your Eyes Open or Its Game Over x1
Backlash! x1
Fortitude Surge x1
Restricted Use In This Area x1
Sustained Damage x1
The Road to Victory x1
This is Going Nowhere Fast x1
Took That On the Chin x1
You Think You Know Me? x1
You’re As Graceful As a Cow On Ice x1
Strategy Notes:
The sole purpose of this Mid-match should be clear: Reverse. It a typical game you should be able to use You Think You Know Me, Took That On the Chin, This is Going Nowhere Fast, Sustained Damage, and most likely You’re As Graceful as a Cow On Ice.
ARSENAL (60)
Actions (0)
Antics (3)
[Revolution] Double Your Value – Double Your Fun x3
Strategy Notes:
Fairly straight forward here as well. Antics are by no means easy to reverse. Use this one to jump the Fortitude curve. Since you’re already at 3F when the game begins, drop this card and you can be considered at 10F for a turn, which could easily lead to a Precision Sleeper if needed.
Maneuvers (24)
BASH Suplex x3
Blindside Beal Toss x3
Blindside Drop Toe Hold x3
Blindside Slam x3
Boot Lace x3
Con-Chair-To x1
German Suplex (TB) x3
Precision Sleeper x3
Superplex (TB) x2
Strategy Notes:
Utilizing Edge & Christian’s ability, Blindside Beal Toss and Blindside Drop Toe Hold are fantastic tools to fuel your hand size. The initial strategy is to simply play Grapple maneuvers until they stick, but on the other side of the coin, you see the sub-theme of maneuvers that have nasty reversal restrictions. With Boot Lace, German Suplex, Precision Sleeper, and Superplex added to the mix, your opponent will be cursing you up and down the street. Couple that with the fact that you have locked your opponent in a Hell in a Cell Match and they will be hurting quickly.
Reversals (33)
[Revolution] Body Slam x2
[Revolution] Clean Break x2
[Revolution] Full Nelson x2
[Revolution] Instinctive Reflexes x2
[Revolution] Roll Through x2
[Revolution] Running Elbow x2
All Talk, No Action x3
Armageddon x1
A Revolution of the Mind x3
Blindside Ego (TB) x1
Divine Intervention x1
Elbow to the Face x3
Get the "F" Out! x2
Me Llamo … Armando Alejandro Estrrrrrada x3
The Return BASH for Scotty's W-O-R-M x3
This is So Totally Unfair! x1
Strategy Notes:
Again, just like with the Mid-match, the theme here should be quite obvious. The intent is to reverse as much as possible, maintain your hand, and pummel your opponent before they have the chance to pummel you.
Any Final Strategy Notes / Insights:
Unlike many decks in the tournament scene nowadays, this deck lives and breathes on its simplicity of design. There is no fancy trick to getting this deck to work, aside from perhaps holding onto your German Suplexes until you actually reverse from your hand. The beauty of this deck is the interaction between the reversals from Revolution and Revolution 2 and Edge & Christian’s ability. Discarding cards can be a big drawback to a reversal, and without reversals to Revolution maneuvers you’ll be in big trouble. Luckily, Edge & Christian can exploit card interactions to turn that drawback into an advantage. Couple that with your 3 Fortitude from Permanent cards in the Pre-match and you’ll have no fear of Mean or Colossal Assaults, Holds, and Throws. Just for flavor, add in the best Antic to come out of Revolution 2: Double Your Value – Double Your Fun to help jump the Fortitude curve and you’ll quickly be punishing your opponent with damaging maneuvers.
