BACKLASH (12)
Pre-Match(6):
A New Plan
Climbing The Ladder
Dressed for Success x 2
The Extreme Icon
Underestimate The Competition
Strategy: Always play Underestimate The Competition first, due to the fact that there are many painful reversals waiting for your Assault: Means and Extremes. If your opponent's SSV is greater than yours, play Extreme Icon and Climbing The Ladder next. If your opponent's SSV is less than or equal to yours, play Dressed for Success x 2, overturning 0 cards for each since Underestimate will have put eight cards in your Ringside pile. A New Plan is if your hand really is that bad.
Mid-Match(6):
Before This Gets Out of Hand
I Can Do Anything I Want
Keep Your Eyes Open Or It's Game Over
Layla El: WWE Diva To The Core
Spinning Crescent Kick
Talk Is Cheap
Strategy: Layla El is there to fetch A New Breed Unleashed, and while it's not the guaranteed 6F that it once was in Revolution 1, it is still a strong opening maneuver, especially if the opponent is below 6F. Don't throw Spinning Crescent Kick unless you've baited out your opponent's Before This Gets Out of Hand. The other four cards are situational reversals.
ARSENAL (60)
Maneuvers (37)
A New Breed Unleashed
Big Boot x 2
Chicken Wing x 2
Chop x 3
Double-Leg Takedown x 3
European Uppercut x 3
Eye Rake x 3
Garbage Can Lid x 3
Into The Barricade x 3
Inverted Atomic Drop x 2
Knee Lift x 3
Spinning Drop Kick
Spear x 3
Struck By A Kendo Stick x 3
Wrist Lock x 3
Strategy: The core maneuvers are mostly used as reversals, but a couple Extreme core maneuvers have been thrown in here to bridge to your Means...just in case you happen to lose Extreme Icon or play an opponent whose SSV is low.
Speaking of means, you have a low breakthrough number to get to your means without The Extreme Icon, as Spear can be 2F, and Garbage Can Lid is 5F. With Extreme Icon, you could play some of these means at 0F.
We include no colossal maneuvers in the deck because our deck is themed around throwing mean maneuvers.
Antics (4):
Shock The World x 2
Toys Under The Ring x 2
Strategy: Shock The World is to help get your Maneuvers on the table. Toys Under The Ring allows for direct access to maneuvers from the ringside pile.
Reversals(16):
I Won't Be Beat Tonight x 2
Inertia
Masochist At Heart x 2
Only One Solution: Revolution x 2
Overexposure x 3
That’s Extremely Un-Original x 2
Try to Get Away x 2
Why Don't You Kiss My A$$? x 3
Strategy: With Sandman’s ability, you can usually continue to put needed reversals back from your Ringside pile into your Arsenal, which allows you to survive a lot longer than most superstars would be able to. Try to only throw reversals to the ring area when absolutely necessary.
Any Final Strategy Notes / Insights: Like the heyday of his real-life persona, Sandman is a robust wrestling machine, able to both give and take massive amounts of punishment. It’s my hope that this deck captures that indomitable spirit as well as the man does. As always, feel free to tweak for your metagame, and feel free to leave feedback about this deck at the E-mail address provided above.
