BACKSTAGE (1)
WWE Signing Appearance x1
Strategy Notes:
The WWE Signing Appearance is the only card you need in the backstage area because you need to be sure you have at least a Superstar Value of three.
BACKLASH (20)
Pre-match (10)
Big Slide in the Ring x1
First of All x1
Premiere Smackdown Superstar x1
Who's Cooler than Michelle McCool? x6
You're a Human Vacuum Cleaner...You Suck and Blow at the Same Time x1
Strategy Notes:
The main point of this deck's pre-match is to keep your opponent from playing mid-match reversals that will stop your combo. There are three basic pre-match setups for this deck. The first and main setup is used when your Starting Hand Size is below twelve. The main setup is to play You're a Human Vacuum Cleaner, Premiere Smackdown Superstar, and all six Who's Cooler than Michelle McCool?, thus forcing your opponent to discard a total of twenty-one backlash deck cards and causing you to draw seven cards. The second pre-match setup is to play First of All as your only pre-match card. This setup is used when your Starting Hand Size is twelve or more and/or you are afraid you won't get to play all six Who's Cooler than Michelle McCool? (Remember, Hell in a Cell stops you from playing Who's Cooler than Michelle McCool? because it is a Run-in). With this second pre-match setup, you can hurt yourself because you lose You Think You Know Me?, which is a very important card in this deck. The last setup is against superstars that your combo won't work against, like Andre and “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. The setup is to play You're a Human Vacuum Cleaner, Premiere Smackdown Superstar, all three Big Slide in the Ring (two from mid-match), and three Who's Cooler than Michelle McCool?. This setup will add six cards to your starting hand size and let you draw four cards (against Andre, you will have twenty-six cards in your opening hand). A note on your first turn of the game: usually I use the Activated Card Effect on all my Who's Cooler than Michelle McCool? (draw one card and then discard one card) to set up my perfect hand and have cards in my ringside pile (if I need to play Volley This! or reverse a volley maneuver with the volley effect).
Mid-match (10)
[Revolution] Sex & Violence x1
Big Slide in the Ring x2
This is Just the Beginning x6
You Think You Know Me? x1
Strategy Notes:
This is the starting point of the combo. The deck doesn't have any printed zero fortitude maneuvers, so you gain fortitude with This is Just the Beginning. You can keep putting them back into your backlash deck by discarding one card, so be happy if your opponent reverses them (less action reversals for later!). You also get to draw one card if they are successful and you have Premiere Smackdown Superstar in your ring area. You Think You Know Me? is to be used if you don't have a reversal in hand when you have the fortitude to play From the Top Rope.
ARSENAL (60)
Actions (17)
From the Top Rope (TB) x5
Million Dollar Smile x1
Never Gonna Stop Me x1
Shoot Action x3
Sodas Rule! x1
That's Broken! x3
That's How I Roll x1
Your Brush with Greatness is Over x1
You're Just a Puppet x1
Strategy Notes:
Most of the actions in the deck help pull off the combo. From the Top Rope (TB) makes the combo work. Million Dollar Smile makes cards irreversible once you have it in play. Never Gonna Stop Me gives you a irreversible card and ends your opponent's turn before he has a chance to do anything. Shoot Action bridges you from the six fortitude This is Just the Beginning's give you to the fortitude you need to play From the Top Rope (TB) (actually, you only need nine fortitude). Sodas Rule! Is a very powerful recursion tool if you don't pull your combo off successfully. That's Broken grabs you anything you need, be it part of the combo or reversals (I like to grab Edge's Running Spear at forty fortitude). That's How I Roll is a very good card to replenish your hand, also it can give you another shot at your combo by picking up the pieces. Your Brush with Greatness is Over is another good recursion card and can be used to hold off if you don't pull off the combo right away. You're Just a Puppet is an excellent card for this deck, it can grab any action (preferably From the Top Rope (TB) if you don't have one) and it makes your actions cost five fortitude less, which means From the Top Rope (TB) only costs four fortitude and thats easily reachable with This is Just the Beginnings.
Antics (5)
[Revolution] Double Your Value – Double Your Fun x3
[Revolution] Everything Has Come to Life x1
[Revolution] Leave It All Behind x1
Strategy Notes:
[Revolution] Double Your Value – Double Your Fun has basically the same function as Shoot Action, to get you to nine fortitude in order to play From the Top Rope (TB) and start your combo. Also, if you have eighteen or more fortitude and a Edge's Running Spear in your hand, your can play [Revolution] Double Your Value – Double Your Fun and double your fortitude on your opponent's turn in order to play Edge's Running Spear. [Revolution] Everything Has Come to Life is more recursion if you didn't pull off the combo and gives your next card momentum, so you can try the combo again. [Revolution] Leave It All Behind is another card that helps you set up a good hand by getting rid of unnecessary cards and letting you draw more cards.
Maneuvers (11)
[Revolution] Edge Clipper x1
[Revolution] Edge's Missile Drop Kick x1
[Revolution] Edge-ucator x1
[Revolution] The Rated R Spear x1
Edge's Spear x1
Superplex (TB) x3
Tornado DDT x3
Strategy Notes:
No zero fortitude maneuvers. This deck tries to build fortitude from actions and antics until it can play From the Top Rope (TB). Once you reach nine fortitude, reverse something from your hand or backlash deck (this is where You Think You Know Me? is helpful). During your turn, play From the Top Rope (TB) searching for Edge's Spear (if your have it search for a Superplex). Then, play Edge's Spear (cannot be reversed when played after From the Top Rope). Immediately after Edge's Spear, play a Superplex (if you don't have a Superplex play a From the Top Rope, you should have one or the other in your hand). In multiple test games, I successfully played Edge's Spear followed by three Superplex in one turn. This is the way the deck is supposed to run and usually can with the amount of drawing it contains, but like everything it isn't perfect. [Revolution] Edge Clipper is helpful if you fall behind in fortitude. [Revolution] Edge's Missile Drop Kick and [Revolution] Edge-ucator are very easy to play and are generally good maneuvers, so I put them in for some more aggressiveness. [Revolution] The Rated R Spear is amazing. It may cost forty fortitude, but you want to reach that point for Edge's Running Spear anyway, so it is a twenty-five damage colossal trademark with momentum. I love this trademark for an easy kill.
Reversals (27)
[Revolution] One Solution: Revolution x3
[Revolution] On This Day, I See Clearly x1
A Revolution of the Mind x3
Downward Spiral x1
Edge-acution x1
Edge-O-Matic x1
Edge's Running Spear x3
Elbow to the Face x3
Love-Fury-Passion-Energy x1
Manager Interferes x3
Scream if You Want It x1
The Rated R Superstar x3
Volley This! x3
Strategy Notes:
Very simple reversal set for this deck. The normal reversals, as in A Revolution of the Mind, Elbow to the Face, Manager Interferes, Volley This! and [Revolution] One Solution: Revolution. Edge's superstar specific reversals for big damage. The Rated R Superstar reverses any [Revolution] cards and can grab you any [Revolution] cards from your deck, so they are very good.
Any Final Strategy Notes / Insights:
This deck is made for fun. It is a combo deck and has a lot of weak points and ways to be beaten. To me, it's easy to lose interest in a game where you don't have fun, so I created this deck with that in mind and not just for it to win. I explained the combo in the maneuver's section and went over the important points to the main cards in the deck, so my only advice is to play for fun, especially the veterans. Our play area died because veterans would just roll new players instead of playing fun things. Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed.
