BACKSTAGE (3)
<Raw Deal logo> Fifth Anniversary x1
<WWE logo> Backstage Signature x1
<WWE logo> Backstage Signing Appearance x1
Strategy Notes: What you play out of these comes down to your situation. I prefer to only reveal one whatever the situation due to the rampant use of “Backstage Shenanigans”.
BACKLASH (20)
Pre-match (10)
Bitter Rivals x1
Evolution is a Mystery x1
For the love of The Game x1
I Want to Play The Game x1
Premiere Smackdown Superstar x1
Sit Right Here and Bide My Time x2
The Old Switcheroo x1
Trash Talkin’ Interview x1
Wrestlemania x1
Your pre-match should breakdown like so:
Bitter Rivals (You want to play pre-matches first, if your opponent drops it before you then play “Trash Talkin’ Interview” instead.)
Wrestlemania (This is the key to the whole deck and as such it’s important to drop it first.)
Premiere Smackdown Superstar (Adding some cards to your hand will help you utilize “Evolution is a Mystery”.)
Sit Right Here and Bide My Time x2 (This will give you a two card draw and set you up for the beautiful comeback this deck intends to make every game.)
Evolution is a Mystery (Use this to remove two cards from the backlash deck, your primary targets are mid-match reversals that will reverse “Let Me Get A Shot In” but only if there are two or it completely reverses and mid-match action/ACE reversals (“Introduce Your Brain to Your Mouth” and/or “Unscrupulous S.O.B.”)
Meta-pres: “I Want To Play The Game” and “The Old Switcheroo” are meta. Use “I Want To Play The Game” primarily against “It’s All About The Game” or Ken Kennedy. “The Old Switcheroo” is in there in case they manage to play “Wrestlemania” first.
Mid-match (10)
[Revolution] My Destiny x1
Sustained Damage x1
This is Just the Beginning x6
Victory Roll x1
You’re as Graceful as a Cow on Ice x1
Strategy Notes: The “This is Just the Beginning” are in the deck for discarding to “Evolution is a Mystery” but over the course of the game you should be discarding destiny and to put them back in the backlash deck because once “Wrestlemania” triggers you can use them to re-draw your hand. If you can manage to land “My Destiny” and two copies of “This is Just the Beginning” you may be able to clinch the win right after “Wrestlemania” with “Victory Roll”.
ARSENAL (60)
Actions (13)
Destiny x1
Fully Evolved x3
I Spit In The Face Of x1
Ladder in the Ring x1
Paid, Laid, and Made x1
So Much Larger Than Life x3
That’s Balanced x3
Strategy Notes: The superstar specifics are mainly for cycling through the deck and of course “Destiny” is for discarding. That’s Balanced is for hiding cards under if you manage to reach 7F before “Wrestlemania” triggers. “Ladder in the Ring” is a back-up in case for some reason your unable to rid your opponent of their backlash reversals to “Let Me Get A Shot In” or they recover their backlash reversals with “The Coach Says Today Is The Day”. “So Much Larger Than Life” will help you get a great start on the game once “Wrestlemania” triggers as you can remove two copies of “You Can’t Cheat An Honest Man” to put both “Let Me Get A Shot In” and “So Much Larger Than Life” into your hand, play both and if they overturn reversals to “Let Me Get A Shot In” the stun value will be either 9 or 11 thus replenishing your hand.
Antics (2)
[Revolution] A License To Kill x1
[Revolution] Burn In My Light x1
Strategy Notes: Pretty self explanatory, you can utilize the fortitude reduction of “A License To Kill” to play something you need a reduction on before “Wrestlemania” triggers and “Burn In My Light” can be a wonder in All Axxess where you will literally face stars with an average superstar value of 3-4.
Maneuvers (8)
Let Me Get A Shot In x1
Overdrive x1
Kidney Punch x1
RKO x1
Roll Up x2
The Ego Cutter x1
[Revolution] Ego Cutter x1
[Revolution] The Legendary RKO x1
Strategy Notes: As can be seen low fortitude moves aren’t this deck forte but once you’ve landed that “Let Me Get A Shot In” you’ll have access to a fairly lethal playbook. “[Revolution] Ego Cutter” is a definite game ender with all the damage pump we can apply to it or you could simply follow it with a “Roll Up” being protected by “Ladder in the Ring” as you’ll more than likely have five more cards in hand than your opponent.
Reversals (37)
A Revolution of the Mind x3
Armageddon x1
Cowboy Bob Orton Interferes x1
Divine Intervention x1
Don’t Try This At Home x2
Get Back In The Ring x2
Get The “F” Out x1
It’s Great To Be Back Here… x2
Once Is Enough x2
[Revolution] Big Boot x2
[Revolution] Chicken Wing x2
[Revolution] Inverted Atomic Drop x2
Sidewalk Slam x1
Sloppy… Very Sloppy x3
There Are Two Things You Can Do: Nothing and Like It x2
Third Generation Superstar x1
Volleyed Beyond The Edge x2
Volley This! x3
You Can’t Cheat An Honest Man x3
You’ll Never Take What’s Mine x1
Strategy Notes: Avoid playing “Get Back In The Ring” unless you have no other choice. “Volleyed Beyond The Edge” should be overturnable once you land “My Destiny”. “Volley This!” should be used almost exclusively on 0F actions, if you don’t have anything important in the ringside then use them on higher fortitude actions but nearly everything in the deck is bad to remove from the game.
Any Final Strategy Notes / Insights: You want to start off each game attempting to reach the fortitude for your “That’s Balanced” with “My Destiny” and “This is Just the Beginning”. From that point on you should draw and end your turn placing one card under each of the “Sit Right Here and Bide My Time”. Let your opponent tear into you and trigger your “Wrestlemania” once they do shuffle anything but the following:
Destiny
Let Me Get A Shot In
It’s Great To Be Back Here
So Much Larger Than Life
You Can’t Cheat An Honest Man
Hopefully they trigger “Wrestlemania” on their turn and you’re able to get the first turn without hands. Remove the top card of your arsenal because of “Wrestlemania” then remove “Wrestlemania” from the game and shuffle one to pick up “Destiny”, remove two copies of “You Can’t Cheat An Honest Man” to pick up “So Much Larger Than Life” and “Let Me Get A Shot In”. From there your options are more diverse, if your opponent has shoot counter and the ability to play it but no mid-match ACE reversal you’ll want to activate both “Sit Right Here and Bide My Time” for some massive recursion then play “Let Me Get A Shot In”. On the other hand if you know your opponent can’t reverse any part of the combo from the backlash then you’ll want to play “So Much Larger Than Life” before the “Let Me Get A Shot In” thus generating a stun value of 11 and damage increase of 8D. Hopefully they’ll overturn a reversal and you can draw 11 stun. Once you’ve done that congratulate yourself on successfully restarting the game as if your opponent had a 0 card handsize and you had an 11. From there take one of the various roads to victory (couldn’t resist another Raw Deal pun like that).
