BACKLASH (12)

Pre-match (6)

Even Good Guys Do Bad Things
John Cena is In My Corner!
Ring Psychology: Assault x2
Ring Psychology: Head
Tomorrow’s WWE Legends

Strategy Notes:
The first card I want to play is John Cena is In My Corner, because it is Universally Unique and I don’t want to have 4 useless cards in my Arsenal. Typically I follow that up with Tomorrow’s WWE Legends, which allows me to play an additional Pre-match card. Then I’ll play Even Good Guys Do Bad Things and finally Ring Psychology: Assault. I’m packing a second Ring Psychology: Assault to defend against Judgment Day, and Ring Psychology: Head in case my opponent is Batista.
Ring Psychology: Assault is aimed at augmenting Edge’s Ability. If I successfully play an Assault, I can take back a Hold or Throw from my Ringside and search my Arsenal for a non-unique Antic, effectively increasing the number of cards in my hand by 1 for every Assault that I successfully play.

Mid-match (6)

Before This Gets Out of Hand x2
Caution: You’re Entering the O-Zone
I Can Do Anything I Want
Keep Your Eyes Open or It’s Game Over
Sex & Violence

Strategy Notes:
Not much to tell about the Mid-match. Five reversals designed to stop Means, Colossals, and Antics. I decided against playing Talk is Cheap, because I don’t want to be dependent on having lower fortitude to play my Antics.

ARSENAL (60)

Superstar-specifics (11)

Chain Gang Headlock
Edge Clipper
Edge’s Missile Drop Kick
Edge-ucator
Everything Has Come to Life
I’m Tougher Than Nails
Leave It All Behind
On This Day, I See Clearly
The Marine Slam
The Rated R Spear
The Untouchable FU

Strategy Notes:
Aside from all of Edge’s superstar-specifics, I’ve decided to pack Chain Gang Headlock, I’m Tougher Than Nails, The Marine Slam, and The Untouchable FU using John Cena is In My Corner.
Although the Chain Gang Headlock is a Mean and easily reversible by Before This Gets Out of Hand, I decided that it was worth packing due to its powerful effect of allowing me to search my Arsenal for any Unique card and put it in my Hand.
I’m Tougher Than Nails is possibly one of the best Antics made. If I am sure that it won’t be reversed, it could easily win me the game.
The Marine Slam is a great Colossal to have. At only 13F, it quickly helps me reach 30F. Being a Follow-up: Card gives it a slight advantage over Edge’s Missile Drop Kick, but having them both in combination with Sex & Violence can be deadly.
The Untouchable FU is essentially a nasty Reversal that doubles as a powerful Trademark if needed. Chances are more than likely that if given the choice, I’d probably not play it as a Trademark.

Antics (7)

A Spirited Turn of Events x2
Headed For a Fall x2
Live Fast – Fight Hard
Look Under the Ring x2

Strategy Notes:
While only 7 non-hybrid Antics may seem slim for an Edge deck, my plan will become more clear when you see the rest of my Arsenal. Also, there are 3 superstar-specific Antics above in addition to these 7.
The intended function of the Antics is clear.
Look Under the Ring is there to get cards immediately back into my Hand from my Ringside.
A Spirited Turn of Events is there to provide further recursion.
Headed for a Fall is there to ensure that my Unique Antics are not reversed.
Live Fast – Fight Hard is an incredible card, especially if I have 25F on the board and The Rated R Spear in my hand.

Maneuver-Antic Hybrids (12)

Poke x3
Takedown x3
Uppercut x3
Wallop x3

Strategy Notes:
This is the main maneuver base (aside from superstar-specifics) of my Arsenal.
They are all hybrid Antics and they all have target “head.”
Aside from Takedown, they are all Assaults.
Utilizing Edge’s Ability, I’ll hit my opponent with one of these maneuvers, and fetch another from my arsenal. If that maneuver is an Assault, I can also take back a Hold or Throw from my ringside. If my opponent does not overturn a Reversal from his Arsenal, I can continue to play maneuvers until he does overturn a Reversal.
Since they also have target “head” they fuel Ring Psychology: Head (if I played it) and Headed for a Fall.

Maneuver-Reversal Hybrids (12)

Collar & Elbow Lock Up x3
Headlock Takedown x3
Only One Solution: Revolution x3
Slap x3

Strategy Notes:
While this may not seem like a robust set of hybrid Reversals for Core maneuvers, utilizing Ring Psychology: Assault, I can take back Only One Solution: Revolution from my Ringside if need be.

Reversals (18)

Inertia
I Won’t Be Beat Tonight x2
Masochist at Heart x2
Never Think Twice
Not What We Came to See x3
Off Your Mark x2
Try to Get Away x2
Welcome to My World x2
Why Don’t You Kiss My A%$? X2
You Telegraphed It

Strategy Notes:
This is not a particularly tricky set of non-hybrid reversals.
Due to space constraints I had to play only two copies of most cards that I would rather have 3 copies of.
Aside from Never Think Twice and Off Your Mark, all the Reversals are from Revolution 1 and Revolution 2: Extreme.
This is quite a bit different than most of the deck, as I utilized many of the new cards from Revolution 3: Judgment Day.

Final Strategy / Other Notes:
Just like the superstar, this deck is designed to be the ultimate opportunist, with the ability to go the distance in a long match.
If I find that my opponent is unable to stop my Core Assaults, I can quickly hit him with multiple maneuvers and get to the Fortitude to start playing slews of superstar-specifics against him, which quickly finish off the match.
