Jeff Hardy
by Andy Covell
Revolution Format
Jeff Hardy (Superstar Card)
Starting Hand Size: 8
Superstar Value: 3
Superstar Ability:
You do not need to play a card before playing an Assault: Follow-up or Extreme: Follow-up.
This enables us to ignore the Follow-up Requirement. I think this would be better if it was a mono deck so it could be a good idea to just use Extreme Follow-ups. A pretty decent handsize of 8, and a low Value of 3 usually makes this deck go second, unless by a lower Value Extremist. Either way, we don't care that much who goes first with this deck. Onto the Pre-match...

A New Plan x1
Climbing the Ladder x1
Dressed for Success x1
<ECW logo> World Title Belt x1
The New Breed x1
<WWE logo> Intercontinental Title Belt x1
Strategy Notes: This is going to be a fun Pre-match, without too many drawbacks. A New Plan to get a better hand. Dressed for Success is for grabbing appropriate Reversals early game against annoying mono decks, plus it add a card to your starting hand.
I was one of those people that kept debating if I should play Jeff with original Abilty to be able to freely play my Follow-ups, or play him as an Extremist, and reap the rewards of A New Breed Unleashed, Overexposure, Toys Under the Ring, and be able to play Extreme Follow-ups cheap. Well with this deck, you get the best of both worlds!!! You get to play the same Extreme Follow-ups, without playing a Maneuver before that while still playing them cheaper than normal! This is so awesome! JEFF HAS BOTH SUPERSTAR ABILITIES!!! Sure, you may not be able to draw a card from playing a Follow-up, but if that really upsets you, then if you are able to, play Climbing the Ladder! Now you can draw at least 1 or 2(between Means and Colossals) cards for playing a Follow-up, because there are no Core Follow-ups really out there.
The belts are going to be up to you. If your opponent plays the <WWE logo> Intercontinental Title Belt first, play the <ECW logo> World Title Belt x1 and visa versa. You want at least one of those into play usually because it will increase your hand either by 2, or it will set your hand up with 2 Extreme Follow-ups to start the game with. Judgement Day decks do not affect 3 of your Uniques in your deck, so your safe there. As fas as <WWE> United States Belt, you will want to play your most important belt first if you have a feeling your opponent is going to play that on his turn. This Pre-match is very solid, and can make use of all your cards, where no 1 card is dependant upon playing, except The New Breed, where no one can get rid of or stop anyway.
Mid-match (6)
Before This Gets Out of Hand x2
I Can Do Anything I Want x1
Keep Your Eyes Open or It’s Game Over x1
Talk Is Cheap x1
X-Treme Twist of Fate x1
Strategy Notes: Standard reversals in Backlash along with his X-Treme Twist of Fate as a good way to ignore the Aggression Rule and if needed can weed out Mean reversals. If you do pull it off, it's a great way to grab your Specific reversals like...I don't know...Flipping Mule Kick!
ARSENAL (60)
Superstar-specifics (7)
Fall-away Drop Kick x1
Flipping Mule Kick x1
Run the Barricade x1
<WWE logo>’s High-Flying Daredevil x1
X-Treme Poetry in Motion x1
X-Treme Swanton Bomb x1
X-Treme Whisper in the Wind x1
Strategy Notes: All the Specifics are fine except X-Treme Poetry in Motion, because this deck doesn't run Antics like crazy, so it's hard to get to play it, but if you do, it's awesome. The only card I would actually consider taking out of the deck. It's all your choice though, of course.
Antics (4)
Prepare for the POUNCE x1
Toys Under the Ring x3
Strategy Notes: What do we have here? Well we got one card that turns non-unique Maneuvers into Extremes. So...this means your Extreme Reversals will have better use except against Extremes. And Toys Under the Ring is a great way to grab Jeff's Specifics, or another disaster Extreme to destroy your opponent! It is also one of the few recovery way to get Maneuvers back into your hand. It helps X-Treme Poetry in Motion flow as well.
Maneuvers (19)
A New Breed Unleashed x1
Eye Rake x3
Flying Topé x5
Homicidal Lunge x3
Hurricanrana x4
Into the Barricade x3
Strategy Notes: This is a fairly decent Maneuver set, which is great for bridging into other Maneuvers. Into the Barricade is nice for getting back some of your lost Follow-ups to only play them again. I shy away from Assault: Follow-ups because since I am an Extremist, I get more benefit from playing Extremes. Plus, a more direct use on mono Extremes will wear out an opponent's Reversal department quickly.
Flying Topé
Extreme: Mean: Follow-up: Maneuver
If played by an Extremist: -1F.
chest
F:4 D:8
Hurricanrana
Extreme: Colossal: Follow-up: Maneuver
If played by an Extremist: -4F.
back
F:15 D:19
These cards bridge into each other nicely as you can see, without playing a Maneuver after each other. So they are cheap, and playable all the time!
Maneuver-Reversal Hybrids (15)
Big Boot x1
Chicken Wing x1
Collar & Elbow Lockup x3
Headlock Takedown x3
Inverted Atomic Drop x1
Only One Solution: Revolution x3
Slap x3
Strategy Notes: This should cover most of your grounds, and you do have Prepare for the POUNCE to further help your Reversal department with your Extreme Reversals, as well as Overexposure. Your other Means have plenty of help as well.
Reversals (15)
Here’s a Lesson Plan x1
Inertia x1
I Won't Be Beat Tonight x1
Masochist at Heart x1
My Way x1
Not What We Came to See! x2
Outmaneuver x2
Overexposure x2
Try To Get Away x2
Why Don’t You Kiss My A%$? x1
You Telegraphed It x1
Strategy Notes: Standard Reversals with Overexposure as a way to reverse lots of things mid-game. Plenty of Antic reversals in this deck to really stop anything too serious, with his Specifics and Mid-match as well.
Final Strategy / Other Notes:
This deck is vicious and keeps hitting the opponent with Extremes over and over again until they lose basically. Pretty simple. The card that is truly going to get you annoyed is Before This Get's Out of Hand, but they only have about 2 usually. Not any more than that unless the opponent really has no strategy.
Jeff Hardy is going to be off the walls having access to basically both of his Abilities. Take it to the EXTREME!
