BACKLASH (12)

Pre-match (6)

Man of 1000 Moves x2
Ring Psychology: Leg x3
WWE Tribute to the Troops x1

Strategy Notes: You'll be playing all your Pre-Match every time. Your Pre-Match should go Ring Psychology: Leg x2 followed by Man of 1000 Moves x2 followed by the other Ring Psychology: Leg and WWE Tribute to the Troops. You'll be getting random Holds for your Man of 1000 Moves, probably Collar & Elbow Lockups, or maybe the copy of Full Nelson in the deck. Always name Leg for WWE Tribute to the Troops and get a Toe Smash unless you have all 3. If you have all 3, get a Figure Four Leg Lock.

Mid-match (6)

Before This Gets Out of Hand x2
I Can Do Anything I Want x1
Indian Death Lock x1
Layla: WWE Diva to the Core x1
Talk is Cheap x1

Strategy Notes: Terribly standard. Indian Death Lock is a very nice 22D Colossal that can be played at as low as 10F in this build. Layla: WWE Diva to the Core is to fetch A New Breed Unleashed, the rest is just standard Reversals. Not much to say.

ARSENAL (60)

Superstar-specifics (1)

The Nutcracker Suite x1

Strategy Notes: This is the only card Balls has, but it's pretty good so we'll include it. It's a big move and he can grab it with his ability.

Antics (6)

A Spirited Turn of Events x3
Toys Under the Ring x3

Strategy Notes: There were originally no Antics in this build, but I cut some dead weight to have more synergy with Leg Lock (Which picks up multiple Antics). A Spirited Turn of Events is a standard late game power Antic and I opted for Toys Under the Ring and not Look Under the Ring simply because you'll be bridging to 4F with Toe Smash.

Antic-Reversal Hybrids (0)

Strategy Notes: I saw no reason to include any Antic/Reversal Hybrids in this particular build.

Maneuvers (20)

A New Breed Unleashed x1
Eye Rake x2
Figure Four Leg Lock x3
Homicidal Lunge x3
Leg Lock x2
Steel Chain Shot x3
The Unforgiving Ladder x2
Three to Get Ready... x1
Toe Smash x3

Strategy Notes: This is the real fun of the deck, ladies and gentlemen. The key idea here is to stick a Toe Smash. There are other non-Target Leg Extremes, but those are mainly for back-up. What you want to do is successfully play a Toe Smash to trigger your Ring Psychology: Leg x3 and then use your Extremist Ability to search for Steel Chain Shot (17/18 Extreme: Colossal). It's -2F for Extremists which you are, making it 15F and then -12F more due to your Ring Psychologies. You've just searched for a 3/18 Extreme: Colossal and have 4F. Proceed to apply fist to face...or...uh...Leg. Everything else is just big Leg Target Maneuvers and large Extremes to throw later on like The Unforgiving Ladder that comes in at 25D! You may question Three to Get Ready without the other combo cards, but it's a Trademark: Core and it's Target Leg so I slipped it in if you ever need to hit the Psychology in a pinch.

Maneuver-Antic Hybrids (0)

Strategy Notes: I saw no reason to include any Maneuver/Antic Hybrids in this particular build.

Maneuver-Reversal Hybrids (15)

Body Slam x1
Collar & Elbow Lockup x3
Full Nelson x1
Headlock Takedown x3
Only One Solution: Revolution x3
Running Elbow x1
Slap x3

Strategy Notes: A bit lighter on these than usual, but to make up for that I opted in the 0/6s to put a screeching hault to the ever-popular 0/6 Non-Hybrids and the 0/7s. The 0/1s and Only One Solution: Revolutions are about as close to staples as you can get in the format.

Reversals (18)

Inertia x1
I Won't Be Beat Tonight x2
Masochist at Heart x1
Not What We Came to See x3
Outmaneuver x2
Overexposure x3
That's Extremely UN-Original x2
Try to Get Away x2
Why Don't You Kiss My A%$? x2

Strategy Notes: Once again, maybe a bit lighter but the deck's designed to play very fast and skip the fortitude curve altogether. It's all fairly standard really, Overexposures do a lot of the work here. All in all it's mostly stuff that should be in pretty much any deck.

Final Strategy / Other Notes: So here we are, the Final Strategy section....I think I've covered most of the things I needed to say about this deck. It's simple and it's not very pretty, but it gets the job done. It also does a very nice job of keeping Storyline decks in check with it's easy Ringside access to conceivably grab copies of Figure Four Leg Lock to remove the Storyline (unless they played a Corner card, then remove that before the Storyline). It's a fun deck, I like it and I think it brings some new life to a star who from what I saw, saw less play in the previous era than he perhaps should have. Only thing left to say is try it out, see what you think, and most importantly...HAVE FUN!
