Kane
by Andy Covell
Revolution Format

I like the Big Red Machine Kane, and although he lost Momentum, I still think he is a good wrestler. I want to bring him back to the times of pure evil.

Kane (Superstar Card)
Starting Hand Size: 7
Superstar Value: 5
Superstar Ability:
Your opponent successfully plays a Maneuver: put up to 1 Maneuver from your Ringside into your hand.

Hmmm...We got an average hand size here with an average/below average Hand size. So what I get out of this is this is somewhat of a control deck, as whatever the opponent does hurts him. This can be a good thing. So his power comes from his Ringside. So this deck would gain more power by how much punishment is inflicted. We need to use this to our advantage.

BACKLASH (12)

Pre-match (6)

A New Plan x1
Dressed for Success x1
Hardcore Hell x1
Man of 1000 Moves x1
Ring Psychology: Assault x2

Strategy Notes: You are going to use almost all of your cards to your benefit. Dressed for Success is going to get you to use your Ability at the start of your game, as well as grab a card you need in your opening hand. All the cards you grab with your Ability can be usually played under Hardcore Hell. The psychologies let you grab any Throw or Hold after playing an Assault, with the max being two. Man of 1000 moves will get an extra Reversal in your hand, or another card to play Hardcore Hell off of.

Mid-match (6)

Before This Get's Out of Hand x2
Keep Your Eyes Open or It's Game Over x1
I Can Do What I Want x1
I’m Baaaaack! x1
Boot Lace x1

Strategy Notes: Basic reversals with Boot Lace being able to be thrown under Hardcore Hell.

ARSENAL (60)

Superstar-specifics (7)

Chokeslam Straight to Hell x1
Get Ready to Burn in Hell x1
Hellfire Clothesline x1
Kane’s Big Boot x1
Kane’s Sidewalk Slam x1
Nothing Can Stop Me x1
Vengeance is Mine x1

Strategy Notes: Great set of Specifics with Kane's Big Boot as a great way to hit something that is hard to reverse.

Antics (0)

Strategy Notes: No reason for any extra Antics.

Antic-Reversal Hybrids (0)

Strategy Notes: No reason in this deck to take up more space.

Maneuvers (20)
A=Assault
HH=Hardcore Hell

Atomic Drop x3 (HH)
Bow & Arrow x3 (HH)
Gut Punch x3 (A)
Roundhouse Punch x2 (A) (HH)
Running Lariat x3 (A) (HH)
Sleeper x3 (HH)
Spinning Heel Kick x3 (A) (HH)

Strategy Notes: This is basically all Hardcore Hell stuff so you're stuff can't be reversed. Gut Punch is a way to throw some Assaults out of the gate to grab some more Maneuvers to keep you aggressive.

Maneuver-Antic Hybrids (0)

Strategy Notes: No reason to waste anymore deck space.

Maneuver-Reversal Hybrids (19)

Big Boot x3 (A)
Chicken Wing x2
Collar & Elbow Lockup x3
Headlock Takedown x3
Inverted Atomic Drop x2
Only One Solution: Revolution x3
Slap x3 (A)

Strategy Notes: These are all cards that you can pick up using Kane's Ability. Any Mono deck (Batista, Rey Mysterio, and ECT) that tries to nail you with another Maneuver, you can be ready for the next one by grabbing the appropriate Reversal. Plus you can grab most of the stuff here with your psychologies, as well as a few Assaults to fuel them.

Reversals (14)

Inertia x2
I Won’t Be Beat Tonight x2
My Way x1
Not What We Came to See! x3
Outmaneuver x2
Try To Get Away x2
Why Don’t You Kiss My A%$? x2

Strategy Notes: Now usually I don't do this with my Reversals, but I decided I was going to anyway. No You Telegraphed That, and I added another Inertia, because Kane should get Fortitude quickly. No Masochist, because like I said, he get's Fortitude fast. So I put 2 I Won't Be Beat Tonight's in there for some cards you can play right from the hand.

Final Strategy / Other Notes: This is going to be fun as most of the opponent's Backlash deck will be nothing! You only have Specifics as Means or Colossals, which makes them, have useless Reversals. And by the end of the game, you will just keep playing your Cores until the opponent gives up or ends up getting Choke slammed. Courtesy of the Big Red Monster!
