111/130 (STARTER DECK – FOIL – Rey Mysterio)
Rey Mysterio (Superstar Card)
Starting Hand Size: 8
Superstar Value: 4
Superstar Ability:
Once during each of your turns, you may discard 1 card: search your Arsenal for up to 1 Assault, reveal it, put it into your hand, and shuffle your Arsenal.
BACKLASH (12)
Pre-match(6)
I've Trained for This Day All My Life
New Plan x2
Ring Psychology: Head
Torrie! Torrie! Torrie! x2
Strategy Notes: You always want to play these Pre-match in this order.
1.Torrie! Torrie! Torrie!
2.Torrie! Torrie! Torrie!
3.I've Trained for This Day All My Life (If your opponent plays alot of throws then play Ring Psychology: Head intstead of I've Trained for This Day All My Life, if your hand really sucks use a new plan instead)
With 2 Torrie! Torrie! Torrie! in my ring you get a nice discount on some of your assualts. In this deck the discount will apply to only these cards: Europeon Uppercut will cost only 6F instead of 10F, Discus Punch will cost only 9F instead of 13F, Rapid-Fire Punches will only cost 10F instead of 14F. I've Trained for This Day All My Life allows you to play one extra Mid-match and if you're pinned by a non-unique you don't lose the game instead you get a second chance.
Mid-match(6)
Before this Gets Out of Hand
Do It For My People
I Can Do Anything
Its All Led to This
Keep Your Eyes Open or its Game Over
Talk is Cheap
Strategy Notes: Your Mid-match here is designed to stop anything that comes along that you might not be able to reverse from the hand.
ARSENAL (60)
Superstar specifics(7)
Dropin' Da Dime
Mysterio's West Coast Pop
Rey-Rey's Wheelbarrow Bulldog
The 1904
The Original 619
Think Nothing of It... But Love It
Too Much Damage for One to Manage
Strategy Notes: Heres some of your fire power for this deck. Five out of his seven superstar-specifics are maneuvers so you shouldn't run out of ammunition anytime soon. Although theres only maneuver-reversal hybrid Rey-Rey's Wheelbarrow Bulldog and it only reverses throws your antics, maneuvers, and superstar ability makes up for the lack of decent abilities from his maneuver superstar specifics.
Antics (6)
Head for a Fall x3
Look Under the Ring x3
Strategy Notes: Headed for a Fall is one of the most destructive antics out there so naturally it harder to play with a cost of 16F and the 6 target head requirement (Requirement: 6 target "head" in your ring. Look at your opponent's hand and choose up to 3 cards: he discards them). Look Under the Ring is so standard that almost every deck should pack these.
Maneuvers (15)
Discus Punch x3
Europeon Uppercut x3
Eye Rake x3
Rapid-Fire Punches x3
Into the Barricade x3
Strategy Notes: These are all target head cards. Rapid-Fire Punches is awesome because you can chain it if you have at least one other Rapid-Fire Punches in your ring because it's ability is to put up to 2 non-uniques with target head from your ring into your hand which makes this card insane if your opponent can't stop it. Nine of these cards are assualts so when you can use you regular superstar ability (Once during each of your turns, you may discard up to 1 card: search your arsenal for up to 1 Assualt, reveal it, put it into your hand, and then shuffle your arsenal) to put a Europeon Uppercut, Discus Punch or a Rapid-Fire Punches into your hand. After playing alot of rawdeal and I found that packing 3 Eye Rakes and 3 Into the Barricades allows one to get 6 target head very quickly.
Maneuver- Reversal Hybrids (18)
Chop x3
Collar & Elbow Lockup x3
Double Leg Takedown x3
Headlock Takedown x3
Slap x3
Wrist Lock x3
Strategy Notes: Basic Maneuver-Reversal Hybrids.
Reversals (14)
I Won't Be Beat Tonight x3
Inertia x2
Kiss My Ass x2
Not What We Came to See! x2
Off Your Mark
Try to Get Away x3
Welcome to My World
Strategy Notes: An awesome and pretty much basic bunch of reversals. I got anything that can stop everything. Off Your Mark is very Nice because reverses anything unique and it has two abilities in which you might be able to use both (If you have less Fortitude than your opponent: put up to 1 Maneuver from his Ring into his Ringside. If you have fewer cards in hand than your opponent: put up to 2 Antics from your Ringside into your hand.)
Final Strategy / Other Notes: This deck is kind of going towards the rush tactic where you try to throw everything at your opponent early in the game and with the discounted fortitude that counts towards 9 of your cards in this deck it really serves no point if you can't pull of the cards to hurt your opponent early. Your superstar ability will allow you to put assualts into your hand from your arsenal so you can search for that Europeon Uppercut that normally cost 10F at regular fortitude price but now will cost 6F because of the 2 Torrie! Torrie! Torrie! is in the ring and its really the cheapest assualt:mean in this deck.
