Indiana League Report

Hey this is Nathan Norrod, the Raw Deal manager for Reader Copies in Anderson, IN. Every Sunday our local play group gathers at 1pm to play in our raw deal league. Whats so great about this league is that its free to enter! You just come every Sunday and play in the tournament and get points for your wins and loses. And after about 13 weeks, the top 3 point leaders get prizes. Right now we are in the midst of our 3rd league.
But what is so unique about this league is that its all about getting back to why we play the game and that is for FUN! This league has a lot of gimmicked typed tournaments, which helps put a lot of the fun back into the game and not so much competition. So here is a report on last Sundays (9/23/07) tournament.
This tournament was a Revolution format printed extremist only! Meaning you could only play an extremist that was printed in a tournament kit, so playing the new breed faction or Jeffs storyline wouldn’t work.
Here is this list of who was playing who
-Jordan Beane, Elijah Burke
-Aaron Snead, CM Punk
-Stacy Hopkins, CM Punk
-Allon Aynes, Sabu
-Tom Smith, Sabu

Now with Sabu being the winner of our Extremist Tournament I asked Tom Smith to submit a decklist and what he thought was the strategy to his deck.

Notes: A lot of the card choices are based on the tournament format – extra Hold reversals for Punk, eight Extreme reversals, and only two Overexposures for example. The basic set-up, however, should be decent for any Sabu. Mostly Target Chest Cores in tandem with Chop to the Chest should soften their hand-up for the usual Knee Lift and Rapid-Fire Punches cycling ad infinitum.
****So there ya have it, the results of our extremist tournament. It was a blast to do something different for a change, everyone seemed to really enjoy doing this extremist only. So may I suggest to other managers to give it a shot and try it at your local shop. Im sure your players wont be disappointed. Lets get back to having fun with this game!!!
