I’d like to thank my fellow co-designer Mike Foley for running what sounds like a phenomenal event in lieu of my absence. Along with Jason Griffey, Christopher “Creed” Pate, Tom Teagardner, and DeQuan Watson, he ran a terrific Gen Con experience.

Props to all the players who posted winning results but what I most want to congratulate are the decks: WWE Raw Deal, despite being “just a wrestling game,” I’ve always seen as a chance for people to experience the ultimate in mental competition. Over the years, decks and their accompanying “t3ch” have evolved further and further. Watching people climb and fight their way up the metagame hill of each set is always a thrilling experience, but I don’t think ever before have a slew of decks—not just in All Axxess, but now with Revolution—caught my attention for their brilliance and elegance.

Kudos, gentlemen: illumination through design and perseverance is an awesome thing to witness.

On a personal note, I’m sorry a situation made it impossible for me to attend Gen Con (I skipped one of my best friend’s weddings a few years ago due to Gen Con; pretty much nothing could ever keep me away … or so I thought). My thanks to everyone who sent notes expressing concern and they are appreciated. I’m thankful not only that my friends, family, and all of you supported me through it.

And, now that it’s behind us, the key is the future: all of us having fun playing this game Mike Foley and I have dedicated the majority of our lives in the last decade to making for all of you.
