Last Chance Qualifier 2007 – Quick Results
by Barron Vangor Toth
Raw Deal co-designer

All Axxess
74 entrants
46 different Superstars

I cannot remember a tournament with such rich diversity. Never before in Raw Deal has the game been so wide open to a variety of Superstars than in the Revolution era of All Axxess. 46 different Superstars is to be expected—at an event like a Gen Con where you might have 150 people. But with attendance not even double the number of Superstars—wow!

Even more impressive was how the top players in the event realized what those of us who know have said all along: Revolution cards add a ton of great spice and I think it goes without saying that many of the decks that did well wouldn’t’ve had those wins if not for those key Revolution cards. Even better is what will happen from this point: now that everyone knows that an All Axxess deck without Revolution cards is ultimately inferior to an All Axxess deck with Revolution cards, how will the metagame shift accordingly?

For example, with the various F:0 D:7 maneuvers being popular, how long until people properly pack the hybrid Reversals from Revolution that reverse those cards? Plus, with “Shock the World” being a new kill card—is it time in the post-WrestleMania haze to bust out “Inertia” and/or “You Telegraphed It”? Other cards that were putting after game after game were a number of the new Colossal maneuvers and the unsuspecting found themselves chalking up a loss. Other Antics—“Look Under the Ring” and “Spirited Turn of Events”—made a huge impact on the game from Revolution, so should you start packing a copy or three of “Why Don’t You Kiss My A%$”?

Onto the event!
