ORIGINS 2006 Report (continued)
As Origins coverage continues, I received this email from Jake Negley, who attended the festivities:
*
I think Stephen Albrecht deserves his own little blurb. Making top 4 2 days in a row is an amazing accomplishment. I feel he is one of the best players in the game, and has come up with some very innovative designs (such as his 3MW/Wrestlemania deck a few years back) – I’m surprised how little his name comes up when players talk about “who deserves to go to worlds (and hasn’t yet)” Also, Adam Pecsi should have an honorable mention for going 6-0 in All Axxess with Heenan before hitting a bad match-up in the last round… Jake Negley
*
Jake, you’re absolutely correct: <<<<<Stephen Albrecht>>>>> (fans of his writing on the Yahoo Group know what that gimmick is about) definitely deserves props for making the Top 4 two days in a row in a ferocious field all while not playing as much on a day-to-day basis. And, yes, Adam deserves props as well as he and Andrew Trebing were 6-0 going into the 7th round—Adam lost and Andrew won, but Adam still showed why he is currently the #1 ranked player in the world. And while we’re naming people that did well in both tournaments, there are a few others I could name, but one also leaps out: Jesse Coates. He’s FOURTEEN YEARS OLD playing in the two biggest tournaments of his life against 100 great Raw Dealers and he dominates both days. Wow. Thanks for the letter, Jake.
